As a photojournalist, assignment and personal projects have given me the opportunity to explore throughout the US, as well as locations in Central America and Europe, examining social relationships and urban environments, through street photography and environmental portraiture. Inspired by masters such as Cartier Bresson, Walker Evans and Eugene Smith (Smith, famous in part for his work in Pittsburgh), I believe storytelling through singular images is a powerful way to examine human commonality.
Through landscape photography, I honor environmental preservation and awareness of natural beauty, which I believe are universal values requiring protection. I’m interested in extraordinary perspectives no matter what shape they might take.
For more than thirty years, my cameras have served me as tools to enable active curiosity about the common, and often magical environments we all share.
