Brushes & Beans Café Hosts East Suburban Artists League’s Show & Party

East Suburban Artists League (ESAL) is “thrilled that we are finally able to hang our first group show since the pandemic lock-down!” says Barbara Jewell, the Show Coordinator. “We are grateful to Mark and Amanda Clemente, the owners of Brushes & Beans Café, for graciously welcoming ESAL for our annual holiday show and party.”

“We invite the public to join us on December 3rd, from 5-7PM, for our holiday party and awards presentation,” says Barbara. Admission is free.

You will be able to meet the artists and ask them about their work. Appetizers, desserts, and wine will be provided, while soft drinks, water, coffee, and tea will be available for purchase from the café.

The show is currently on display and will run through Jan 2. This show will not be judged. However, during the month of November, patrons of the café are encouraged to cast a vote for People’s Choice Awards, to be announced at the reception.

ESAL artists choose their entries for this show. They work in all types of media, styles and techniques including: paintings in watercolor, acrylic, pastels, and oil; photography; fiber arts; various media including collage, mosaics, and monoprint.

Brushes & Beans Café is a “warm, inviting neighborhood business, combining a pottery studio and coffee café.” This quality display of 38 original artworks occupies the studio side of Brushes & Beans and showcases the variety of talent of ESAL members. Most works are for sale and can be purchased immediately or left (with a “sold” sticker) until the show’s end on Jan 2.

Brushes & Beans Café is in the Village of Murrysville shopping plaza, 4550 William Penn Highway, Murrysville, (in the same plaza as Shop ‘n Save). Hours: Tuesday-Thursday 8am-5pm; Friday-Sunday 10am-4pm; closed Monday.

ESAL is a nonprofit organization and was formed 57 years ago in 1965 to foster arts and crafts and to educate, inspire and encourage artists and patrons in Pittsburgh’s eastern suburbs. “We have worked hard to bring our ESAL group back together [since the pandemic lock-down] – voting in a new slate of officers, and welcoming several new members,” says Barbara. ESAL sponsors lectures, networking, workshops, and League-sponsored shows, displays and exhibits.
